Personalized Pet Preventative Care

Pets can’t always tell us what they need - but Live with Grace Animal Hospital is here to help! At Live with Grace, we provide personalized preventive care designed to keep your pet happy, healthy, and thriving. Because every pet is unique, we build customized wellness plans that meet their individual needs. From annual exams and vaccinations to dental care and routine health screenings, our services support your pet’s well-being at every stage of life. We also empower pet owners with the knowledge and tools they need to care for their companions between visits.

Examinations

A lot can change in your pet’s health over the course of a year—which is why routine wellness exams are essential. At Live with Grace Animal Hospital, we recommend annual checkups for most pets, though more frequent visits may be necessary depending on their age, breed, or health conditions.

During each exam, our veterinarians conduct a thorough nose-to-tail assessment, including checks of the eyes, ears, mouth, joints, muscles, and vital organs like the heart and lungs. These comprehensive evaluations help us detect any early signs of illness—because the sooner we catch something, the better the outcome.

Wellness exams are also a perfect time to discuss any questions or concerns you have about your pet’s behavior, diet, or routine care. We’re here to be your partner in keeping your pet healthy, happy, and thriving year-round.

Vaccinations

Keeping your pet protected starts with the right vaccines! Vaccinations help prevent serious diseases, some of which were once fatal. Every pet has different risk factors, so their vaccine schedule depends on lifestyle, exposure risks, and disease severity. While core vaccines are crucial for all pets, we may suggest additional ones to ensure their best protection.

Cat Vaccinations

Core Vaccines:
  • Rabies
  • FVRCP (Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis/Herpesvirus, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia)
Lifestyle Vaccines:
  • Feline Leukemia (especially for kittens and outdoor cats)

Dog Vaccinations

Core Vaccines:
  • Rabies
  • DHPP (Distemper, Adenovirus/Hepatitis, Parvovirus, Parainfluenza)
Lifestyle Vaccines:
  • Bordetella
  • Leptospirosis
  • Lyme
  • Canine Influenza

At Live with Grace Animal Hospital, we recommend vaccines based on your pet’s age, health, and lifestyle to keep them protected without over-vaccinating. Core vaccines are essential for all pets, while lifestyle vaccines are given as needed.

Titer testing (checking antibody levels with a blood test) may be offered in certain cases - such as when there are health concerns, special requirements, or by owner request - but vaccines remain the standard and most reliable way to ensure protection.

Microchip Identification

Your pet is family—and we’re here to help keep them safe and close to home.

Microchipping provides your pet with a permanent, unique form of identification. This tiny chip, about the size of a grain of rice, is safely implanted beneath the skin with minimal discomfort—similar to a routine vaccination. It securely links to your contact information, greatly increasing the chances of a safe return if your pet is ever lost.

We highly recommend microchipping for all pets, including those who live strictly indoors. Accidents can happen, and a microchip offers peace of mind that your pet can always find their way back to you.

Parasite Prevention

Parasites aren’t just a seasonal concern—they can threaten your pet’s health all year long. Fleas, ticks, heartworms, and intestinal parasites can lead to serious illness if left untreated, which is why proactive prevention is so important.

At Live with Grace Animal Hospital, we recommend routine testing and year-round protection to keep your pet safe and healthy. We also equip pet owners with helpful advice on recognizing early signs of infestation and keeping their home environment parasite-free—because prevention is the best protection, 365 days a year.

Lab Work

At Live with Grace Animal Hospital, we recommend including lab work as a key part of your pet’s annual wellness exam. Diagnostic testing helps uncover underlying health issues that may not be visible during a physical exam—allowing us to catch concerns early and provide timely, cost-effective care.

Lab work is also crucial before administering anesthesia or starting new medications, ensuring your pet’s safety every step of the way. Common tests include complete blood counts (CBC), blood chemistry panels, parasite screenings, urinalysis, FeLV/FIV testing, and titer evaluations.

With routine lab testing, we can better understand your pet’s health, monitor changes over time, and tailor care to their unique needs.
