Acupuncture for Natural Pet Healing

Acupuncture stimulates the body to naturally heal itself, aiding your pet in feeling better. It targets certain points with tiny, literally hair-thin needles to improve blood circulation, enhance lymphatic flow, and prompt the release of endorphins (hormones that make you feel super good) which eases pain and inflammation.

What to Expect During a Pet Acupuncture Session

Every acupuncture session is individualized for your pet's particular condition and requirements, but many treatments will need in between 20-30 minutes. Every visit starts with a detailed assessment of your pet’s muscles & fascia to pinpoint the areas for work. Then very fine, almost painless needles are inserted at specific locations. The treatment should be painless for your pet and enjoyable, with some pets even falling asleep while being treated. The needles are usually left in place for a few minutes to as long as twenty minutes. In some instances, we use electrical stimulation (e-stim) to help with the release of endorphins even more, which will increase pain management.

Conditions Acupuncture Can Help Manage in Pets

At Live with Grace Animal Hospital, we offer acupuncture as a gentle, natural way to support your pet’s health—often alongside traditional treatments. Many pet owners turn to acupuncture when medications or other therapies are not giving enough relief, or simply want a more holistic approach to care.

This time-tested technique can help manage a variety of conditions, including:

  • Arthritis and joint pain
  • Neurological issues like seizures and paralysis
  • Back and neck pain
  • Cancer-related discomfort
  • Lick granulomas
  • Digestive issues
  • Asthma and other respiratory problems
  • Immune system imbalances
  • Ligament injuries
Whether your pet is dealing with chronic pain or something more complex, acupuncture may be a gentle and effective way to help them feel better and enjoy life more fully.
